NEW WORKSHOPS SCHEDULED FOR 2008

If you have attended National Association of Rural Health Clinics conferences, you have been privileged to hear Susan Carrico teach on RHC issues.

Susan has been with Riverbend for seven years and is currently the supervisor of the Provider Outreach and Education department. She has a well rounded knowledge base of both the FISS system and RHC program regulations. She travels extensively to provide training to Riverbend's providers.

I am excited about having Susan as a special presenter in TWO additional INTENSIVE TWO-DAY WORKSHOPS IN 2008. She will teach in Jackson, MS on June 26-27 and in Atlanta, GA on October 9-10.

Susan will teach all day on day one, and I will teach all day on day two. The outline of the Healthcare Horizon session is listed nder the National Workshop Schedul section of this site. Here’s what Susan will be teaching on day one:

9:00 - 10:00 am RHC Benefit
This session will discuss what is and is not an RHC service and the health professionals that can provide the RHC service.

10:00 - 10:15 am Break

10:15 - 11:15 am RHC Billing
This session will discuss how to bill the RHC encounter and the correct fields for the UB04

11:15 - 12:00 pm Documentation
Advanced documentation discussion including specific elements of evaluation & management services as well as "incident-to" the physician's face-to-face visit. This session will also include discussion of the RHC Local Coverage Determination (LCD).

1:00 - 1:45 Medicare Secondary Payer
This session will provide an in-depth look at the Medicare Secondary Payer program, including eligibility and billing criteria.

1:45 - 2:00 pm Break

2:00 - 3:00 pm Riverbend & CMS Web site
Step-by-step navigation of Riverbend's new and improved web site, with emphasis for Rural Health Providers

3:00 - 4:00 pm Direct Data Entry (DDE)
Discussion of the Health Insurance Query Access (HIQA) and Direct Data Entry DDE)system. This session will provide a "how to" manage and monitor your Medicare claims.

In addition, I am also hosting several one-day intensive RHC training events. These workshops will have some new information and will include an extensive training manual, with something NEW this year.
